4 Apps That Can Help Divorced or Separated Parents
Our smartphones have become one of our essential items we simply cannot leave our homes without. Nearly everywhere you go you will see someone walking, sitting, or even driving with their smartphone in hand. Most of us have become dependent on our devices. While our cell phones now have the capability of making our lives a little easier, they can also do something else, allow us to access helpful apps. There are apps that allow you to connect with friends and family who lives hundreds of miles away as well as apps that help you edit photos on a professional level.
And did you know there are actually apps that can aid you while going through a divorce and even once your divorce is finalized?
Because divorces tend to be stressful and overwhelming for many, we thought we would take the time to highlight some apps that can be downloaded right to your cell phone that can help you as you navigate through the various phases you will go through both during the divorce process and even after.
This app is “a single application for messages, scheduling, and photo sharing for everyone in your family,” even if you are separated or divorced. The app allows you to “share events and tasks in one place so that everyone can comment, get updates, store personal notes, and set reminders.” The app can be especially helpful to divorced or separated parents as both can see what events are planned such as when your kids have a recital, when there is a doctor’s appointment scheduled, etc. so that there aren’t any surprises.
This app is similar to Square Hub as it can prevent conflicts from arising as it helps families “manage [their] shared parenting plan and communicate easier. In fact, 9Honey reported that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie “plan to communicate with each other in regards to their children via the app Our Family Wizard.” Some of the features the app offers include:
- Help you understand your parenting schedule at a glance.
- Manage shared parenting expense reimbursement requests.
- Share and store vital family details.
- Document and organize your communication within the secure app.
- Simplify requests for parenting time exchanges, reimbursements, and more.
This app “helps parents manage child support and shared expenses, resolve payment disputes, and share and track all documents and receipts related to their shared payments.” Whether you are receiving money for child support, spousal support, or both, this app makes exchanging payments easier and gives you peace of mind as you know exactly where your money is going.
The 2Houses app also gives separated parents a platform to share their parenting schedules to help avoid conflict. The interactive calendar provided in the app allows you to input your shared custody arrangements, add in certain details regarding where your children will be spending their time (i.e. at grandma’s), and even input when there will be a party or other event happening. The app also offers certain features that can aid divorced parents including an information bank, an album, a journal, and a finance section.
While these apps do sound tempting to download as they seem to address many of the issues separated or divorced parents run into, you also don’t want to forget about the advice and guidance a family law attorney can provide you with during this tough time in your life.
